The Physics Show of the University of Bonn
Our “Physikshow” aims to educate kids and adults alike about physics while they experience a fun show. In our shows we present entertaining and educational experiments - and explain them in an easy to understand way. The explanations of the main shows in Bonn are drafted towards children around 12 years. The traveling particle physics show is aimed at a slightly older audience (14+). However, younger children also can have a lot of fun watching the experiments without understanding all of the explanations.
The “Physikshow” is lead by Prof. Herbert Dreiner and Timo Poller from the physics institute of the Bonn University. The students write, organize and perform the shows during their free time.
The internationally successful particle physics show “What's (the) matter?” will be performed in Bonn on September 14 and September 15! With magical umbrellas, the two main characters go on a journey through space and time: from the structure of atoms to particle accelerators and the detection of the Higgs particle.
The world's first physics show musical returns to the big stage on August 23 and August 24, 2024. In two entertaining hours, the physics show musical offers the audience live music, live singing and lots of humor, providing interesting facts about our blue planet.
