Our next particle café will take place on 27 September between 4 and 6 pm in conference room II at the Institute of Physics (PI 1.049).
At the Particle Café, we offer pupils and students the opportunity to talk informally about physics over coffee and cake and to find out about careers in physics within and outside science.
This time we have invited Dr Martin Schultens. After completing his doctorate under Prof Klaus Desch, Martin Schultens initially worked in data analytics consulting at KPMG and advised companies in various industries (food, telecommunications, aerospace). He then set up a data analytics team at a retail company and developed machine learning models for forecasting the sales of advertised products.
He has been working as a Data Science Manager in the Trading Department at EnBW for two years. There he develops models for energy price forecasts and forecasts of renewable energy generation volumes. He also works on systematic trading strategies for the market.
As always, there will be the opportunity to ask Martin Schultens questions and network in a cosy atmosphere.
