Become an astroparticle physics researcher for a day on International Cosmic Day 2024 at the University of Bonn Become an astroparticle physics researcher for a day on International Cosmic Day 2024 at the University of Bonn

The 13th International Cosmic Day (ICD) will take place on 26 November 2024. International Cosmic Day (ICD) is dedicated to the cosmic particles that constantly surround us but mostly go unnoticed. We spend a day exploring the world of particles from space and discovering what secrets they hold.

The 13th International Cosmic Day will take place on 26 November 2024. International Cosmic Day (ICD) is dedicated to the cosmic particles that constantly surround us but mostly go unnoticed. We spend a day exploring the world of particles from space and uncovering their secrets.

What are cosmic particles? Where do they come from? How can they be measured and what can we learn from them? On Cosmic Day, pupils, teachers and scientists from all over the world will come together to get to the bottom of these mysteries.

Bonn is also taking part again this year and invites interested pupils from the surrounding area to join in the research for a day. There will be lectures and exciting experiments with various detectors to measure cosmic radiation. The results collected worldwide on Cosmic Day will be compared and discussed with other research groups at a major scientific conference.

Would you like to learn more about cosmic rays? Then ask your teacher to register here and join us on 26 November. A maximum of 4 students per school will be admitted.
