During the week February 24 - 28, 2025, the first Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) on Physics within the Erasmus Programme took place at the University of Bonn, Germany.

15 students from six partner universities (Amsterdam, Camerino, Lisbon, Porto, Stockholm, Torino) as well as 13 students from Bonn participated in an intensive week on Machine Learning Methods in High Energy Physics given by Dr. Eckhard v. Törne. In lectures and exercises the students learned about the design and training of neural networks and how to use them in Particle Physics. In two 'Data challenges' the students tested their knowledge and the best students received a small price.
On Tuesday evening a group dinner opened the possibility for socializing and on Fat Thursday a common visit of the Carnival's Party of the Physics Institutes widened the view from Physics topics to cultural experiences.
Most of the external students stayed at Bonn's Youth Hostel what made the organisation of their trip to Bonn rather easy and fostered the feeling of belonging to a group.
The students from partner Universities, the local students and the lecturer enjoyed this intensive week very much. Based on this positive experience we think a about offering a BIP on an advanced Physics topic next year again.
